Our Roots in Tamil Nadu’s Arecanut Heartland

Tamil Nadu’s arecanut cultivation thrives in districts like Erode, Coimbatore (including Thondamuthur), and Namakkal, covering approximately 6,884 hectares and producing robust yields thanks to the region’s monsoon-fed irrigation and nutrient-rich soils. Erode and Sathyamangalam, in particular, are celebrated for varieties like ‘Mangala’ and ‘Sumangala’—known for their large size, minimal bitterness, and high oil content. These areas contribute significantly to the state’s output, with Erode alone accounting for a substantial share of the 24.5 thousand tonnes produced annually. 

At SSV, we source directly from these premium zones, supporting over 200 local farmers who cultivate on small-to-medium holdings. Our direct-buy model guarantees they receive the best prices for top-quality produce, fostering a cycle of trust and prosperity.

Quality from Seed to Shipment

Farm Selection & Sourcing

We partner exclusively with verified farms in Thondamuthur, Erode, and Sathyamangalam—regions famed for their disease-resistant, high-yield arecanut palms.

On-Site Quality Inspection

Our field experts conduct rigorous checks for ripeness, size uniformity, and absence of defects such as blackening or mold. Only the best harvests that meet these standards are selected, with moisture content verified at 40–50% to ensure ideal processing.

Harvesting & Initial Handling

Fruits are hand-picked to avoid bruising, collected in ventilated crates, and transported within 24 hours to our state-of-the-art facility in Coimbatore. This minimizes post-harvest losses, which can affect up to 15% of yields in less controlled chains.

Sun Drying

Batches are spread on clean, shaded drying yards under controlled sunlight for 25 - 30 days, reducing moisture to 10-12%. This traditional yet monitored method preserves natural enzymes and enhances the nut’s golden hue and aroma—key to premium grades.

Dehusking & Sorting

Using mechanical dehuskers, we gently remove the outer husk, followed by automated sorting for size and wholeness. Defective nuts are segregated, ensuring 99% purity. Final kernels are fumigated (if required) and packed in moisture-proof bags.

This process not only guarantees superior quality but also our capacity to supply up to 50 tonnes monthly—scaling with your demand.
