CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Caring for the land that feeds us.

At SSV Agro Products, our business begins with the farmer and the soil. Every spice, pulse and grain we supply depends on healthy land, reliable water and thriving farming communities. That is why responsibility is not separate from what we do. It is part of how we intend to grow: sustainably, responsibly and in partnership with the people who grow our food.

River Kousika course desilted and reshaped to recharge groundwater, Coimbatore – CSR initiative supported by SSV Agro Products
FEATURED INITIATIVE

Reviving River Kousika

Restoring water. Reviving life.

River Kousika is one of Coimbatore’s historic river systems. Over the years, silting, overgrowth and encroachment have reduced its ability to carry and hold water, lowering groundwater levels and affecting the farms that depend on them.

The Reviving River Kousika project is a community-led restoration mission led by the Rotary Club of Coimbatore United (RI District 3206) together with Kousika Neerkarangal, working alongside CSR partners, government agencies and local communities. It focuses on ecological revival, groundwater recharge, flood mitigation and long-term environmental resilience.

SSV Agro Products is proud to support this initiative as a CSR partner. Our focus is on what a living river means for farmers: restored water flow, recharged groundwater and more secure livelihoods for farming families in and around Coimbatore.

WHY IT MATTERS

A living river, a thriving farm

For farming communities, a healthy river is more than a landscape. It is the water in their wells, the moisture in their soil and the security of their next harvest.

Groundwater recharge

A restored river holds rainwater longer, letting it soak into the ground and refill the wells and borewells farmers rely on.

Water security for agriculture

More dependable water through the dry months supports healthier crops and more stable harvests.

Protecting soil and farmland

A clear, well-shaped channel reduces flooding and soil erosion, protecting fertile land along its course.

Reviving biodiversity

A living river brings back native plants, birds and wildlife, restoring the ecological balance of the region.

Stronger rural livelihoods

Secure water and productive land help farming families plan for the future with confidence.

Climate resilience

Restored rivers help communities cope with erratic rainfall, droughts and floods.

Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 6 · Clean water and sanitation SDG 13 · Climate action SDG 15 · Life on land
